I got a new treat for myself from the opening party at the fantastic new Purl space. 4 skeins of Koigu PPPM. The colorway is so gorgeous and springlike! I plan to make a shawl for myself for spring and summer. I had originally been thinking of making a Clapotis – the very popular pattern really lets the colors just shine through. And then I had second thoughts. I honestly don’t know if it’s my style. I did some Ravelry searching, and found three other patterns I really like. The Aeolian shawl, the Falling Leaves wrap, and the Cambria wrap (Rav link). I really want a wrap for this, not a shawl, so I think Aeolian will have to wait. The other two though are strong contenders. I guess my question is, will I wear a simple wrap that screams COLOR more than I would wear a lace wrap that gently shouts color.
After two big color project fails with Fiesta Baby Boom yarns, I’ve become insecure. What are your strategies for dealing with very colorful yarns?
