At long last, this project is finished. I had to make major size adjustments because my yarn was so different from the pattern. I recalculated everything. Finishing was a huge hassle. The saddle shoulders were difficult to fit properly. In fact, the sleeves wound up being far too short. My husband has decided for the time being to keep this as a spring sweater, and he likes to push the sleeves up even further so they are more jersey length. I don’t think I would ever do a saddle shoulder sweater again. It was just too difficult to size because I really couldn’t tell until the end how it was going to fit. I really liked the look of the sweater, and the special details like the slipped stitch sleeve stripe, but the construction would prevent me from recommending this pattern.
I think the next sweater for my husband will be Beagle. For *next* winter.
