I made this fun scarf for my sister’s Christmas present. It’s soft, thick, and warm, which is especially important with all of the snow her town has seen this year. It’s a really simple braided cable. It curls up too much for my tastes, and I think I will reclaim it from her after the winter and add a border, either by picking up and knitting one or crocheting around.
I cast on 24 stitches for a heavier weight yarn. I made buttonholes on one end, intending to add buttons so she could wear it as a cowl, but she seems happy with it the way it is. I really love the color and feel of the yarn. No surprise there – I have yet to be disappointed by Malabrigo.
