I don’t think I ever shared the final socks I completed during Socktoberfest this year! I have lots of other knitting I am working on, but most of it needs to remain hidden until after Christmas.
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Tahoe colorway
Needles: Size 0
I really love how these came out! The pattern is popular with special colorways for good reason. The lace is perfectly visible even with some fun color changes. They fit well, are easy to memorize, fast, and actually do not use a ton of yarn. I have nearly half a skein left.
I have been really busy getting through some of my 2009 resolutions before it is too late! I am snowed in right now in Washington DC – some twenty inches fell yesterday. We ventured out to go to the movies (Invictus) and dinner. It was so much fun – climbing over snowbanks, throwing snowballs, running through the deserted streets. I wish I could say that I was motivated enough to get up early today for sledding and snow angels, but I am content to enjoy the view from inside. We leave soon for Mineral, Virginia, and then to Ohio for Christmas. Expect lots of photos when I come back!
I will leave you with a couple Christmas ideas. Chunky Braided Scarf – this pattern can be done with Malabrigo Chunky in a (long) day for a luxurious gift. Also, I have been bringing Fleur de Sel caramels to everyone I visit — recipe here, but be sure you read the corrections in the comments first. Hope everyone in the path of the blizzard this weekend is staying warm and safe!
