I can’t tell you how thrilled I am with this project. The yarn is soft – the silk giving it a lovely sheen (perfect for work, going out, or paired with jeans to watch a football game) and the merino makes it cozy and warm. Truly luxurious. I enjoyed working with the yarn.
The top down construction was great for me. I was able to adjust as I went along (though I think my sleeves are just a half inch too long – I will modify that before I wear again). The biggest challenge was struggling through the yoke. The cable and lace pattern is not charted and has different repeats. So I would be on the 5th row of the cable pattern, but on the 1st row of the lace. I finally had to write it all out to keep it straight.
For those of you keeping track (my husband!) this makes a grand total of TWO sweaters I’ve made and kept for myself, compared with the two I gave to Goodwill and one that I unraveled completely. Next sweater project will be the Tangled Yoke Cardigan, but I need to finish a few other projects first AND my Christmas knitting. Anyone else out there working on Christmas gifts? I am knitting for my husband and my sister, mainly, with small things for my nieces and my nephew as well. Hmmm…. I have a brilliant sport weight red that would be perfect for the cardigan as a Christmas sweater… But I must finish other items first!
