Food! Seems like all I’ve been posting lately is knitting, but I am still cooking up a storm, especially with food from the Upper Meadows Farm CSA. I tried the veggie turnovers recipe from the farm blog. I went all out and made the dough myself. I served it with salsa, a salad, and garnish of purslane. They came out really well! I’m not very good with dough, so it was a bit labor intensive, but worth it.
Other cooking adventures include a major pie fail last night. The crust was soggy and undercooked. The fruit never really gelled. At least the flavor was good, so it’s back to the drawing board with the dough. I was never much of a pie maker (see above reason re: dough) but I am hoping this summer to make a weekly attempt in an effort to expand my dessert horizons beyond chocolate, chocolate, and chocolate.
