I caught the terrarium love that’s been spinning through blogworld. First was Jenny Ryan’s terrarium how to on CRAFT. Then Susan shared her awesome terrariums on West Coast Crafty. I was lucky enough to receive some of the supplies in the mail from Susan, and here’s my jar!
I had a vintage canning jar that my father acquired for me at a yard sale or flea market. We went for a walk on the beautiful hiking trails in Morris County looking for suitable moss. Assembling it took only moments. I have more vintage jars, including a smaller one perfect for my husband’s desk. This weekend I hope to celebrate the fabulous weather by getting together some more terrariums!
These gems are tough to photograph, but mine lives on my night stand with my jars of ribbon, vintage buttons, and yarn bits (I save every end from yarn that I cut off from weaving in ends and use the bits to stuff toys). I love looking over at it and seeing the little bit of life in it. These would be great for bringing into work if you have a desk area. Finally, a form of plant life that your co-workers couldn’t kill with neglect when you go away for a week!
