Stashbusting in action! These adorable, easy cabled baby socks are my new favorites. The pattern is free, and so cute. I used a tiny ball of a DK weight yarn I’ve had in my stash for years. It’s the leftover of a baby hat I made for a new first cousin once removed. Like several of my projects of late, I ran out of yarn at the end. So I unraveled the completed toe of one sock to finish the heel on the other, and finished them both off with some leftover Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted.
I actually don’t have much of a stash. Less than two medium sized plastic bins. But I am trying to use up as much as possible this year. Basically, finish all the projects I had planned before planning new ones. These baby socks are a great way to use up leftovers. They could be done in heavier yarn for a larger child. These fit my 16 lb, 4 month old nephew just about perfectly.
