Love these fingerless gloves! The yarn was my one skein giveaway from the Ravelry afterparty at Rhinebeck. The giveaway worked! The yarn is Valley Yarns Amherst 100% merino wool, and I love it! It’s soft with a gorgeous, rich color. At the price, it’s quite a deal, and I’m planning on using it for my next sweater purchase. The pattern is Evangeline by Michelle Szeghalmi, available for free on Ravelry.
I did the beginning rib and first repeat with size 7, then the rest with size 6. The hand ribbing and thumb gusset were with size 4. I also did one extra repeat of the cable pattern. I BARELY squeaked these out of one skein. Less than an inch remaining after using every scrap cut off from every woven in end (spit spliced together). I had to majorly shorten the thumb. I really did want the extra cable repeat though. If you try to duplicate this, I recommend cutting the cable ribbing on the bottom by a row or two to give you enough yarn.
Great pattern, fast knit!
