Have you ever been the inconsiderate houseguest who leaves mascara and lipstick stained on the towels? The solution – whip up one of these to take with you, or to use at home and spare your own towels. The short days and snow we’ve been getting have not been good photography conditions, so this photo isn’t my favorite. The yarn is a deep plum – really lovely in person. This particular washcloth (with the French made soap pictured behind it) was a gift for a birthday girl I went to see last weekend.
The pattern is by Cindy Taylor, and it’s available for free though I used my copy from Weekend Knitting. I used the recommended yarn, Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille. I really love how it came out. This yarn obscures any stitch patterns with its texture, so the petal shape was the perfect project for it.
This is the first of a few last minute gift projects I plan to post this week. The washcloth would be a great stocking stuffer if you have a couple hours to put it together. I could easily do one during the time it takes to watch a movie. Come to think of it, if I start now, I could make one tonight!
Thank you to all of the wonderful visitors from Sew Mama Sew. I mailed the felted clutch out to the contest winner yesterday. I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and have lots of new blogs to check out.
