Hello to all of the visitors from CRAFT and other blogs! Thanks for stopping by. I’ve been really busy with some gift knitting and sewing that should be handed out this weekend, so stay tuned next week for an awesome owl themed baby gift, a tale of three (baby) bootees, and how my bittersweet caramel fleur de sel brownies turn out. This last dessert is for a family reunion tomorrow, and I’m really hoping it’s a hit.
For Vintage Friday, I’d like to share my favorite childhood craft supply. My grandmother gave me this glass tube full of sequins in the late 1970s/early 1980s (and yes, I know that this doesn’t meet an Antiques Roadshow definition of vintage – I’m using the term as a concept, not technical designation). I prized this tube so highly that I only used the sequins for the most special of craft projects. For me, this meant Christmas. Anything I made for Christmas meant I could use these sequins. We still have some pinecones I decorated with these about twenty five years ago. I had no idea that one could buy sequins at a notions store. I just thought these were the most precious things I owned.
Anyone out there have favorite craft supplies they’d like to share stories about?
