You can point out that the days are getting shorter. Remind me that I’m not wearing skirts outside every single night. Say that summer’s almost over. I tell you this: I am holding on to summer with all my might. This is how – summer Saturday breakfast at the Waterfall Cafe (of course!). Whole wheat banana bread, peaches, strawberries, ground flax seed, and a few drops of heavy cream. Hot coffee, and a beautiful backyard view.
This week I need to finish the massive amount of gift sewing and knitting that I have begun, and make my way back to that blue knit dress. I also might make more pesto, and maybe see if I really am too late for any more peach jam or strawberries worth preserving. This week I plan to eat a lot of plums and find some more blueberries for amazing fruit salads. I also will make Whoopie pies to use up those two cups of chocolate buttercream I have in the fridge. Right now though, since I finished the banana bread, I am off to make Peach Oatmeal Bread.
