These two are already in the arms of new friends. It’s my third and fourth time through this pattern, and I think I finally hit upon my FAVORITE yarn for it. Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted. So soft, great color variations, and it’s superwash. I used Debbie Bliss Cotton Angora for the inner bunny ears, for the kerchief, and for some of the embroidery. I used wool floss for the eyes.
The pattern is from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I struggled a bit with the instructions for how to work up the elephant trunk, but in the end, I am very pleased with the results. I also was nearly able to complete both of these with one hank of yarn. In the future, I would say that I could definitely get a bunny and a bear out of the same hank. That makes the $18 price tag a bit less steep when I calculate that it is for two toys, not one.
So Peanut and Butter are off to new little girls, Pearl in Portland and Alice in NJ. Here’s another bunny photo to show off the color a bit more. Lovely!
