A quick, stashbusting FO to share. This is the Bath Puffy from Leigh Radford’s One Skein book. I made it out of some hemp I bought years and years ago when Hemp for Knitting was simply Lana Knits. Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibers, and it is grown without pesticides (unlike most cottons). I remember reading somewhere that hemp also dries faster than cotton and is naturally resistant to bacteria. This could be a myth! I will let you know how the puffy actually works after its debut tomorrow.
Modifications from the pattern: I used a DK weight hemp and size 6 needles instead of the recommended yarn/needles. One skein books often get a bad rap as being uncreative or needless – I’ve actually made 3 of the 30 patterns in this book. This works out roughly to 10% of the patterns already used, and I am open to making others if the occasion calls for it.
