I don’t think I shared this FO already. It’s the Kai Cable Sweater from Natural Knits for Babies and Moms. 6-month size, 2 skeins of Blue Sky Alpacas Cotton – in Cleveland Browns orange. I made it during football season.
This pattern was fine until the neckline, as many other knitters have noted. After knitting and re-knitting the neckline over 3 times, I finally just had to fudge it as best as I could. I was disappointed by the final result. I would not recommend the pattern unless you are prepared to re-work the entire neck and spend significant time on the finishing. I think if I did it again I would try to work it in the round starting from after the vents in the side bottom ribbing, and then maybe pick up the stitches for the sleeves.
I’ve got four WIPs right now. A set of baby booties half finished, a Cobblestone that is 70% done, and a Rogue that is about 90% done – I grafted the hood together on Rogue yesterday – all that’s left is setting in the sleeves and the zipper. Shouldn’t take too long, right? I’m halfway through the feather and fan stockings from Knitting Lingerie Style. I’ve got one stocking done, and the urge to work on alpaca and silk thigh high stockings has disappeared in the California sun.
This photo is the unblocked first stocking. The sizing is not right for me – I’m tall and had to space out the increases a lot more than called for. I also didn’t need to make them nearly as wide at the top, so I will need a garter to hold them up. They are all alpaca, with silk reinforcing the toe and heel.
