Busy day and night! After declaring that Christmas stocking to be a lost cause, I decided that others were right, and I may as well just finish it in the matching yarn that I had. It’s blocking right now and I hope to have finished photos soon. And now I’m down to only 3 WIPs to finish before I become project monogamous.
I volunteer in the early evening on Saturdays, but I was home by 9. My husband and I cleaned out our storage unit – the results of our two hour cleaning spree are in the photo. All of that is either being sold (the drum kit) or is being donated to our local thrift store tomorrow. For donating our cell phones, I printed out a mailing label from Secure the Call, an organization which refurbishes phones for emergency use. They even take non -working phones as well, and you can print a postage paid mailing label if you don’t have the cash for postage.
I threw in a copier paper box full of fabric. I went through the two bins and several shelves that I had filled with fabric, and cut it by at least a third. If I had a shirt or pants that I intended to re-use the fabric from, I cut out the hardware and pieces to discard which left a much tidier pile. Perfect timing! Because in the mail, I had an order from Superbuzzy waiting for me. I got a total of five yards of fabric in some prints that I will cherish. They are washed and put away already in the two bins I have left. Yay! I’m excited. This is one of the rewards of getting rid of the stuff that just weighs my life down that I do not need. I have more space for stuff I do want that I will use.
