This weekend went by in a flash. I’m still getting all my school books, organizing last semester’s notes, and trying to get ahead on my months of birthday cards and things. Seems like 3 out of 5 of my closest friends and family members (including myself, my husband, my sister, my dad, and my older brother) are all either Virgos, Libras, or Scorpios.
I’m still knitting away on a top-secret project. I also cleaned out my craft bookshelf to make room for the new books I posted earlier. I gave a few away to a friend, but all of the others have gone to the Book Zoo, on Telegraph and Alcatraz, so if you are in the area and in the market for some vintage craft books and Dover publications, check it out.
I still had time for baking cake and playing cards this weekend – two of my favorite activities. This is the Cocoa and Butterscotch Goomba cake from the Marcel Desaulniers’ Death by Chocolate Cakes cookbook. It wasn’t difficult, and made a beautiful layered presentation with marbled layers. I didn’t space the layers perfectly, but I thought it looked lovely. My household cannot eat an entire cake in a timely fashion, so the remainder will be going to my campus tomorrow morning. if any of my classmates are reading this, be in the lounge by 9 a.m. to start your week off with a nice dose of chocolate, sugar, and butter.
