If you were sitting with me today at lunch, this is what you would have been looking at. It was another gorgeous day in San Francisco, and I took a few photos on my usual Tuesday walk to the farmer’s market. This is the Bay Bridge, connecting SF with the East By. The piece of land in the left of the photo is Treasure Island, about halfway between the two sides.
We would have walked to the Ferry Building, and I would have shared my dessert with you. I bought the Chocolate Cream Cake from Miette, on the salesperson’s recommendation. It was excellent. A chewy, unique textured cream with cocoa nibs in it. The frosting was a thick, rich flavor.
Maybe you would have tried to talk me out of the $3/lb peaches, but I don’t think I would have listened. When the summer ends, I always feel like I haven’t eaten enough peaches, and when the rain starts, three dollars a pound seems cheap for a taste of summer. It was such a beautiful day. I tried to burn it all into my memory. I love this city.
