Well, MSL recently had a lovely page about taking an old medicine cabinet and transforming it into a jewelery box. I did a really quick job of it. I figured I’d see if I liked it, if it was useful, if it worked before putting in the time to paint it, install shelves, etc.
Luckily, it was in really good condition inside, and outside too, once I cleaned it off. I covered the top in paper I had in my stash, and then made velvet covered boards for the inside of the door and the bottom, also from my stash. I used adhesive hooks, silk cord for hanging earrings held in place by decorative upholstry tacks.
All in all, even though the door hangs a little crookedly, it looks great on the wall. I think this will work out quite well, indeed.
