I’ve definitely got the fever right now for sewing. Maybe because it’s summer, I’m just not interested in my knitting projects. I’ve finished my apron for the What’s Cookin? Apronswap, and I’m thrilled with how well it turned out. It wound up being kind of expensive, because I had to buy the pattern and two kinds of fabric, but well worth it. I loved the pattern – will definitely do it again, although with all the ruffles it took forever, and the fabric was just a dream to sew. Really nice quality cotton from Stone Mountain and Daughter Fabrics in Berkeley. I also am 85% of the way done with a different pattern apron for myself. Hope to post it tomorrow. I’ll have to wait to post the swap apron until my partner receives it. Hope she likes it! I really tried to pick fabric that I thought would go with her style, but it’s always really difficult when you’re doing that for someone you only know through blogs.
The swatch here is for a new dress – Vogue 8233. It’s a wrap dress, and I’m hoping it will be a little easier to fit than the other McCall’s pattern I’ve been stalled on. I’m really hoping to finish it in time to wear on my visit to my family this coming weekend. Fingers crossed! My apartment is a sea of pattern paper, scissors, pins, and thread.
