Like many other sewers in the world, I am going to attempt the Walk Away dress. Dress-A-Day posted a review of comments and I admit I am a little concerned about the fit, but I will do a muslin and try my best. I have yet to finish any adult garment requiring a zipper, so I am hoping this pullover, wrap around style is more successful for me. The fabric is by Michael Miller, and I found it at the fabulous Michael Levine store in LA. The special bias tape is very exciting to me – they sold it by the yard in a wonderful color palate. Can’t wait to see how this goes! Any advice or other links with folks who have successfully finished this are much appreciated. I meant to sew this before I took off on my big summer road trip, but the best laid plans, etc. etc. Perhaps it will be a dress for next summer instead.

Love the fabric and I am sure the dress will look lovely! Can’t wait!
i made it and while time-consuming, it really is easy and cute! i got lots of compliments when I wore it.
the most annoying part is hemming that circle skirt– not sure how much bias binding you got, but you might consider binding the hem instead of hemming- it would look really cute and be a lot less swear-inducing than turning it up! just my two cents…
yours will look just wonderful, can’t wait to see it!
Oh my, were ladies really supposed to have a size 14″ waist back in the 50’s? LOL
Blessings,
Sher
Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! I will check how much bias tape I got – it would be a lovely way to finish the whole thing.
